I just ADORE Bar Carts. After having obsessed over them on Pinterest for some time, the agonising decision over what style to get had to be made. There are so many styles to complement any interior design palette: blonde rattan for a tropical/ boho/ coastal theme; silver and glass for a Gatsby, Art Deco vibe; bright gold for a glamorous, girly style; dark stained rattan for a British Colonial vibe… So many options! After much Pinterest boarding, it was ultimately decided to go with a bright gold finish for a few reasons: my home has many pops of glamorous gold; we have navy feature walls that I felt would contrast beautifully against the gold; and it most importantly, Temple and Webster had free delivery (#winning!).
For Coco Interiors’ recent photoshoot collaboration with Carly from Carly.co, we wheeled out the bar cart to the pool area to visually inspire a fun, Summery, afternoon-cocktails-by-the-pool story. It really helped us create a relaxing, coastal lifestyle vibe. I love my bar cart so much that I think I may have to give it a name!
In terms of styling the bar cart for our shoot, we couldn’t go past using fresh citrus like limes and lemons. We also used a hot pink Cocktail book to offset the gold (who can resist the girly and glamorous pink and gold colour combination?). We used a few bottles of our favourite liqueurs, glassware and a cocktail shaker and accompaniments. Fresh pineapples were introduced for their tropical appearance and photogenic texture. If we could do it again, we might include fresh flowers or greenery but we are very happy with how fabulously the scene came together.
Enjoy the photos!
